Savvy Fashionistas need to be chic and confident when out and about so here are 3 things that you won't ever regret having in your stash: 1. TRENCH COAT. How To Upstage Your White Button-Down

How To Upstage Your White Button-Down

Fashionable clothes can be frilly, detailed and over the top, but one of my favorite fashion must-haves is a PLAIN white button-down shirt. It's a versatile staple to a fashionista who wants to scale up a basic look as opposed to a white t-shirt. This fashion classic elevates basics like jeans and ball skirts and keeps them from drifting into Alice In Wonderland. Be sure to buy more than one or refresh them regularly because over time they can get soiled or start yellowing from being overbleached. Because of this, I like to buy mine vintage and sometimes opt for oversized...

How Your LBD Can Make A Big Statement

How Your LBD Can Make A Big Statement

Your LBD (Little Black Dress) is most likely your favorite go-to staple for an evening out. Keeping a simple black dress is beneficial because you can add  other pieces to switch up your style. For versatility, try adding a shrug, a statement necklace or an expected shoe like a peep-toe bootie in a bright color. A unique pair of shades or a bright pop of color can make your outfit interesting and set you apart from all the other LBD's in the crowd. Also, look for dresses with cut outs, asymmetric lines or contrasting textures to make a major style...

TRUE OxBLOOD

TRUE OxBLOOD

Savvies are going bananas over the return of a color really popular last fall...OXBLOOD! Some refer to it as 'Wine, dark-red or Bordeaux" but it's more of a dark reddish-brown color that oozes with warmth, intrigue and sensuality. The smoky richness of Oxblood actually sucks you in, and affectionately embraces you like a warm hug. It wins favor with redheads and goes well with most fall colors. . Wear it with khaki green,  deep tan, navy blue, mustard and even pumpkin. Let's face it; Oxblood is the new black.

Revolutionizing Fashion
As I participated in The Women's March On Washington 2017 this past weekend, I saw so many inspiring and passionate signs and expressions of unity, compassion and political protest. I took many photos but I have to say this picture is my favorite. I was so proud to see my fellow fashionistas show up and show out; putting their stamp on the Women's March.
You see, fashion is more than frilly clothes and expensive designer duds. Fashion is revolutionary in its own right. For women in America, clothing has always provided a means of visual resistance. In the1800s those who believed in dress reform, or the right to wear pants were deemed rebellious. At the 1963 March on Washington, hundreds of black women wore denim, overalls and natural hair, resisting protocol and rejecting expectations. Last November, when women showed up at the polls in pantsuits, they were not only attributing to activists of the past but expressing their support for the first female presidential candidate nominated by a major party.  The various clothing women wear to express their beliefs reflect a myriad of political issues .
So yes, fashion does have a place in politics.
